Right, they don't do serrations as they are difficult. I stopped buying serrated Benchmades for this very reason and it's been well worth it.

However, if you get a ceramic rod sharpener it's not that difficult. So long as you get any rough edges off the serrations they should work well. There's also the Spyderco Sharpmaker which is arguably the best sharpener on the market next to the Edge Pro (and a fraction of the price).

I was under the impression that benchmade would sharpen their serrations..that kind of bs...now i may not go with the serrated one...would you post here when you get that resolved?

Even though benchmade wont sharpen the serrations, I will still never by a non serrated knife. I use that section of the blade MUCH to often to not have it. The one knife I have without serrations I never carry because its just not as useful.

I'll just have to buy a sharpener.

Like I said, I've only purchased plain edged Benchmades when I realized Lifesharp didn't do serrations since the 90's. I have never had a problem. If I ever want a serrated edge for camping or whatever I usually stick with a cheaper spyderco delica or endura.

But without question my Benchmade 710HS is the best Benchmade I have ever owned. Perfect.

serrated edges normaly do not require routine maintenance, dont let that stop you from getting knives.

non serrated are usualy alot more maintenance and makes you pamper the knives more which I myself enjoy. That is the good side of owning knives, you get to tinker/sharpen/clean them.

I've always stayed true to my roots with either Camillus or Gerber knives. I've got a Cuda CQB knife with quick release on my LBV that makes my donkey slobber. It's bad ***.

My daily carry is a Benchmade 9050 Auto, I'm a big fan of Benchmade knives. I've looked at the 943 Osborne, but I'm still deciding on whether or not I like the Axis locks. It's a good mechanism, just not sure if I like it yet.

My other knives- Emerson SOFCK-B (Single edge Tanto with 'wave' opening), Kershaw Whirlwind, Kershaw Ken Onion 'Chive' and a Camillus auto flight survival kit knife with paracord ripper. I think I'll add a Spyderco, or another Benchmade to my collection next.

Any of the Microtech Halo series are badass.

I have a Halo 2, so f-ing fast and sharp.

Think I paid almost $300 for it though, they are expensive.

I carry this little sucker all the time. This is a great pocket knife. With the tanto point, single edge bezel, it makes for a very formidable cutting edge. I wouldn't recomment it for utility work but is excellent as a super sharp, folding tanto edge that is not cumbersome in the least bit.
