Keep Pace will be collecting charitable donations @ this year's annual meet!
Foremost, I just want to address that we've talk this over with Jourdan, this year's event coordinator, and he has given us the "go ahead" concerning this matter.
Anyways, in light of the unfortunate events that has happened this year thus far, i.e. California wildfires, Midwest floods, etc. We are encouraging people to find it in themselves to donate items such as food and clothing to those who have been displaced by these calamities. Keep Pace will gladly collect these items during the meet and deliver them to local charities, primarily, but not limited to, Second Harvest of Santa Clara County and The Salvation Army, who in turn will do their job and distribute these donations accordingly.
We must emphasize that any food donations must be non-perishable (canned goods and such), for obvious reasons, as well as containers not be in glass, as requested by Second Harvest. Also, bulk items such as rice, flour, or sugar will not be accepted.
Clothing items (which will also include bed sheets, blankets, bath towels, etc.) may not necessarily be entirely brand new, but must be in very good condition.
As they say, "a little goes a long way." We would gladly accept any reasonable donation. Although, we will not be collecting any cash, but do encourage such donations to be directly given to the aforementioned charities or any that come to mind.
On behalf of Keep Pace, I would like to say thank you if this has become of interest to you. We encourage everyone to also ask any family, friends, neighbors, etc. to help in any way they can. In turn, we will make sure these items are sent to the charities promptly and all will be on behalf of the generous BAIC members.
For any questions/concerns, either myself or the other members of Keep Pace would surely be glad to address them. Any further details will be posted promptly.
Hope this answers some questions of what Keep Pace is all about.
Once again, thank you for your consideration.
Signed,
Karl
