Like I said, these films are not for everyone, but if you like sci fi, you will like D9, and if you're ok with transformers-like cheese, then you will like GI JOE, esepcially if you liked the cartoon from back in the day. Much nostalgia to be had! 
I'm looking forward to seeing the quality version instead of the crappy *** version I saw.
As far as D9, I thought it was really cool due to the concept of the film. Great CG, and not the same old sci fi stuff that we usually see. I liked the concept and I think it was done really well.
If you're not into sci fi, then you prolly wont like it, simple as that. I can tell you that there were some pretty sick *** scenes in the film though!!!
