just installed boost gauge, got a few questions

alright i just installed a defi d-guage into my wrx.
1) i noticed that when i start the car is goes down to 10(the vacuum side) is that normal?
2) when im driving down the road at 3500 what is it supposed to read?
3) There is a noise coming from the gauge(im guessing the connection at the hose) that goes along with the engine, is that supposed to happen?

If anyone can take a look at my job and let me know if i did something wrong i would be very grateful.....i live near SJ city.

Vacuum when you're idling or cruising is normal.

What it reads is entirely dependent on throttle position. Low/no throttle = vacuum. WOT = "full boost" after probably 3200rpm.

What sort of noise? Air hissing? If so I'd tighten up the hose clamps (or add some if there aren't any). If it's another noise please describe it!

the noise is not a hiss, more like a....flutter, don't really know how to describe but it is new. it gets louder as the rpm's go up.

yea i think thats it what i am going to do, i didn't use any hose clamps on the connections, so i am going to buy some and install them tomorrow. just curious...is a leak for a boost gauge dangerous for the car/me?

it will run weird bc it's expecting a diff amount of air than it's getting, but it's fine to drive around a bit.
