I had an initial tune by Ed using the 3-port GM solenoid, then upgraded to a hallman RX MBC. I never heard the solenoid ticking when it was mounted. it did rattle when I left it hanging in the engine bay though. Once I set the MBC for 17psi, I left it alone and the spool difference is night and day.

From my understanding all EBC units, like the AVC-R, are all solenoid based. you wont get the same performance with one vs. an MBC.

You can log with enginuity. The website is www.enginuity.org
The current version they have .0.4.1 does NOT have the ability to log with a wideband. However, if you look in the forums over at enginuity in the development forums, there is a test version(look for thread titled "logger") that will log with a Innovate LC-1.

Also, in case its not clear, most aftermarket performance downpipes comes with an extra bung before the cat where you can install the wideband. If you are still using the factory downpipe or if you have a downpipe that does not have that extra bung, you'll need to take it to a muffler shop to get a hole tapped and a bung welded for the wideband(LC-1 comes with a bung and plug)

If you are local to the bay area and don't want to wait to get an LC-1 through the mail you can get one from Dan at www.034motorsports.com They are located in Fremont down the street from subydude

Finally, Braden, the owner/moderator of http://osecuroms.org/ also sells more refined stage 2 and stage 2.5 maps for 52 dollars each(he calls them XPT maps). There are different maps for the oem BCS vs the GM BCS(and they cost 52 dollars each so you should decide which way you want to go first otherwise you'll end up paying for both maps)
Anyway, I eventually sold my accessport and am just hoping that more tuners in the bay area will start tuning with opensource tools. I figure I can always pick up a used accessport again if I really need to when/if I get a bigger turbo and need a pro-tune

Personally I had both the accessport and the XPT map for a while. I've been running the XPT map for about a month and like it better than the accessport. But, as someone mentioned, currently, if you are running an opensource map, you pretty much won't be able to get a pro-tune from any tuners here locally. I have heard that vishnu will tune using opensource and that speedelement will start tuning Subaru's with opensource soon but have not verified this. So that is something to consider too.
