Jellyfish as pets

Does anyone on here happen to have Jellyfish as pets?

I went over to the Academy of Sciences a few Thursdays ago and saw some jellyfish and man... they're awesome.

I was wondering if anyone had some and was willing to share some advice as to whats needed to properly care for them.

I thought the reason was you just watched "7 pounds"

I'd like to know as well though, seems like a pretty neat idea.

haha; the Jelly fish in 7 pounds was NUTS!!!

Yea, at the Academy of Sciences they got like these small tennis ball sized jelly fish that are just hella cool.

I'm sure I'd have to go to some alley way in Chinatown to get some haha.

Okay, just read up a little on keeping them as pets. Apparently the "easiest" (albeit possibly illegal) is to catch them in the wild. Second is to get them from a public aquarium but I doubt even they would give/sell you one.

Also, jellyfish apparently are difficult to maintain. Usually they live up to 2 weeks in a tank before dying in some freak filter accident or something.

just watched 7 Pounds last night too... thought it could have given a bit more info throughout instead all towards the end... Kept on wondering why, but not enough to be on the 'edge'... only reason I finished watching the whole thing because it was free and got nothing to do...

ANNNNNNYWAY... jellyfish pet... hmm.... i wouldn't... rather have a dog... hahaha

Just watch it, it would be a bad spoil to explain anything with it... I think 7lbs comes from the average weight of a heart. 7lbs.

Jellyfish as pets would be sick. I wouldn't mind having a Lion or Tiger. Just let it roam the front yard
