Where in tokyo? I haven't been able to contact my mom or grandpa at his place in shinjuku/yoyogi...either by phone or email...

Folks in Hawai'i are fine, just a tsunami warning for now.

Geez, Sendai looks really bad right now...

They're all at work, some in Shinjuku, some in Marunouchi, some in Ginza, all the usual business districts. Some in Yokohama, too. Sounds like the entire greater Toyko-Yokohama metro are is OK.

Sorry, don't know. Local friends don't seem to be sweating it too bad since the last few were duds, but this time, I dunno...

Yeah I'm a little worried, my grandpa is recovering from heart surgery and my mom isn't the strongest lady, I'm hoping they were safe at home and didn't fall, or not out on the train or something...

12-14 foot waves predicted in Haleiwa and Hilo. Sounds like a nice surf day if it weren't for the root cause.

Wow, more earthquakes? An aftershock?!

Oh man first the middle-eastern protests, now this...
I hope the economic recovery isn't too badly affected by this.

Hope all are well though
