Exclamation Irrational Desires

I've never in my life wished to own a Mercedes. Lately (as in the last 48 hours) I've had an irrational desire to find and purchase a 190e. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Well, maybe a bit too much Top Gear. I know it's a horrible idea. 80s Mercedes (hehe, that DOES rhyme) were crap. Still are crap, actually. Still, something about that car piques my interest. Maybe it's more an intense craving for a new toy. Who knows. I am actively looking for one... bad sign.

Anyone else falling victim to irrational desires lately?

Just go drive one and then you'll realize how crappy it is and how irrational your desire really is.

I've driven one. Yet I still want one. It's troubling.

That is troubling. If I ever start craving such ill representations of automobiles, then please put me out of my misery.

Wait until you need it to be reliable, a year with one of those ****ters and you'll be cured.

I wouldn't call it an ill representation. I can think of a LOT worse examples.

It wouldn't have to be. I have other cars.

Clarkson will do that... I have never been a fan of Mercs either but the SLS looks (and sounds) amazing.

wait until you have to get it worked on...

my buddy was just quoted $3k USD for 6 injectors installed! I almost thought it was funny, until he found that you need special tools which cost a lot of money and no shops around here have them... also, he was quoted $300 to fix his rear view mirror...

I don't think its a bad idea. Its not like your wanting to replace your brand new WRX with it, so if it is down or needs work your not relying on it. I've always liked that body style, especially when they're are taken care of or fixed up. Plus they're not too expensive, just checked CL and they're $1650-3000. Could be fun to take what's wrong with it and make it better. I'd enjoy the challenge.

I know all about it. When I was in Irvine we did independent Mercedes repair as well. Talk about insane prices on stuff. Not really worried too much about that, though. I know people.

Yeah, they aren't too expensive. They're decent looking. Finding a stick seems to be a challenge. I'd have to murder it out, even if it was with a rattle-can.

190's are to mercs what the taurus was to ford. cheap (as in inexpensive AND crappy) and plagued with problems.

Don't get one. My gf has one and I (and she) can vouch that it is a complete piece of crap. Stay far away...
