iphone racetrack lap timer app

Has anyone tried using the iphone to track your lap times? Talking about the big track, not just quarter miles.

I found this, but just thought I'd check if anyone else has tried something already.

I really don't see why it would be worth $30

I would look for something else personally.

At the track, transponder rentals are $25-$30, professional track timer systems can cost hundreds.

I can rationalize the $30, but that's why I'm asking if anyone knows anything better or cheaper =D

I don't know I'd say the gps integration and self lapping features would easily be worth that, I've paid a lot more for a stopwatch with fewer features.

SO could we say, map out Hammy and start an official start/end point and see who really is the "king of the mountain"?

Without a loop the program isn't quite as awesome, but we could do loops of Geysers road for bragging rights!

it's still useful, it tracks info throughout the drive, such as speeds taken through each turn, etc. That's really useful info!

I've looked into this briefly a little while back and ran into a few different apps that seem to do the same thing. After going threw the ones I found I decided to try "Harry's GPS Laptimer" on my next track day.. I haven't purchased it yet but it's only 5 bucks, so what's there to loose? (other than the 5 bucks..)

There's a few other apps that do something like this. I've picked up DashCommand for iPhone from Palmer Performance but have yet to try the Rack Track feature. I'll probably write a review with regards to DashCommand and Rev using a Kiwi Wifi once I get a little time.
