I just talked with a crutchfield technician, told me to cut the crimp caps off of the alpine receiver and twist them together with the crutchfield custom harness. Did that, but receiver didn't power up. It turns out that the crutchfield custom harness with the black and red wires were reversed, so he told me to switch them...i.e twist the red wire with black wire. He also said he would send me a new crutchfield custom harness AND the new receiver's harness, with everything twisted and crimped together so that I don't have to do it again. Good customer service. But when I installed the factory head unit back in, it didn't work I blew a fuse I guess. Replaced fuse and factory stereo works again. Now I just need a backup fuse before I try installing the new one again. Anybody know where to get it? It's the blue one with the # 15 on it.
