I see. Thats what happened to me at first. The manual said for it to be in the off position but it did not boot up until the car was fully in the on position.

Another possibility is that the OBDII connector is bad, which also happened to me. I sat there for hours trying to figure out why it was not turning on. I called COBB and they said this happens alot so that might be it?

The AP should start up as soon as you plug it into the OBDII port, no matter what position the key is in. Make sure you have the OBD-II cable plugged in all the way... try wiggling it around a bit. If it still doesn't start up, you probably have a bad cable.

ap

doesn't the accessport manual state that your car's battery must be fully charged before you attempt to connect the accessport? you had to jump your car so you might want to get your battery tested.

always try the simple/inexpensive solutions first...
see if it will plug in to a friends wrx/sti to find out if its the cables or your car/car battery with the issue before buying a new battery

ok so i just met up with jesse and he tried it on his 04 wrx and it didnt work either so he is going to get another obd2 wire from his cousin and check it out tomorrow to see if its the wires. if not he works at extreme motorsports so he can just send it back to cobb as a defect or whatever it was and get me a new one again.
