I've always had trouble sleeping but after the war it got exponentially worse.

I told my doctor and he suggested that I try Ativan (Lorazapam) which is like a sleep aid, but it's purpose is to calm you down and get rid of anxiety, which is my biggest problem. The reason that other sleep aids didn't work as well as they should have is because they didn't target the areas that affected me directly.

Anyway, I took one last night and felt a way that I have never felt before... All my stressful thoughts were vanquished, and even if I tried thinking of stressful things, they didn't bother me AT ALL. Apparently this is the same stuff that they give to family members when someone in the said family dies... Not only did all stressful thoughts disappear, but I also go drowsy and was able to fall asleep in minutes rather than hours like normal!

WOW! I couldn't believe how well it worked! I slept for a solid 9 hours and woke up refreshed and feeling just fine! I've tried MANY, MAAAAAANY sleep aids but this one just kicks the living crap out of all other sleep aids out there. It's very unique and does it's job well.

If you suffer from stress or anxiety, ativan is for you! It's main purpose is an anti-anxiety medication that allows people with severe anxiety to function normally. It's not something you take every day, it's only "as needed", and for me that is night time right before I go to bed... I don't always go through sleepless nights, but when I do it's really bad and the only thing that can help me is ativan.

Major A+++++++++++++++++ for ativan! Kicks the crap out of ambien as well as other popular sleep aids. If you've served in a war, or have had a very traumatic experience in your life that keeps you awake at night, I highly recommend this for you guys. It come sin .5mg, 1mg, and 2mg, Doc gave me 2mg so I can break them in half and have a bigger supply without having to go to the lame pharmacy.

I'm really looking forward to the thought of being able to sleep when I need to!!! This is such a big deal for me, you guys have no idea how great this is (some of you might).

I love sleep and it's the worst feeling to not be able to sleep when you REALLY REALLY need to because your mind is racing with images of your dead friends laying there missing limbs all bloody, and sometimes with their eyes open... An image I'll never forget.

I have so much respect for our soldiers, doing the unthinkable, and that war doesn't end when they leave the war zone, it stays with them for the rest of their lives. Thank you to all of you who have risked your lives to make us safe. Godspeed and you guys are American's real heroes.
Damn dude, how much did Ativan pay you to post this?

I finally found an alternative to Ambien in Silenor. My doctor prescribed me some and so far have been very very happy with the results. Full 7 hours of sleep without waking and the best part.. No daytime drowsiness and no addiction! Finally. It's about time.

I'm taking Lorazapam now - and it works pretty well.
Be advised the stuff is SUPER addictive.

Trazodone - I've been there. Really dirty drug with lots of nasty side effects.

I've found a nice balance:
1mg Lorazapam
200mg of Theanine
500mg of Gaba

I go through phases of that too, it sucks! Things have been good lately though (maybe it's having so much beer variety on tap).
