watch the 250cc laydown karts race at laguna seca. i think wayne raney is racing these, with motorcycle style handlebars... they're 3 wide through turns.
i believe they have the all time lap record.

^^that sounds awesome haha
Yah my uncle's unused land is hard dirt, pretty flat. I guess I would have to find a kart/buggy hybrid with decent suspension. How much do those used karts run?

go to kart tracks, you'll find someone with one for sale.
check out the kinsmen first in Dixon... then move out to the kart track at infineon. The infineon, like i said earlier, is a very technical track. People will be absolutely jamming out there on you if you're a newb (even 14yr olds)... I don't think people understand how tech driving these things are.
if completely new, I'd recommend starting with a 80cc Rotax, then move into a 125cc Rotax... before moving to 100 or 125cc shifter. My old trackmagic kart had ~47 horse to ~225lbs... crazy fast. about ~425 with me in it.

i first experience the proper karts at the Blue Max Track in Davis. simple easy track and even then a Rotax Max with not even 20hp was already a handful. before that experience, i had thoughts of one day driving a shifter. after that, i think a full blown TaG will be plenty.
