WTF? ever think that maybe those people would like to get home every now and again?
or maybe leave campus for things like food and god forbit...work.
Maybe someone should push the school into building offsite parking for dorm students.
I was in the dorms my freshman year..shoot I was in the dorms in high school. Both places we had seperate parking for dorm students....a bit farther from the classes so commuters could park close.

you can always take amtrak home from davis, its a pretty nice ride, that's what i'll be doing until my car gets out of the shop. the amtrak station is pretty close to campus, just take the A busline. someone will have to pick you up from the station though. pretty much everyone i know without cars in davis just takes amtrak

i don't know a percentage, but i'd say 70% of the people i know there have cars and the rest don't. They are all jnr's and snr's though. pretty much everyone takes the bus or bikes to and from campus, car or not.
you really don't need a car if your a freshman. if you need to go home just take amtrak

Lol that was me! Saving money on gas was the prime objective then and should be even more the case now... Over 2.00$/gallon??? Geez.. Of course Japan pays 4-5$ a gallon so we are still very fortunate.

so anyways i visite davis today and heres my impressions...
god theres SO many bikes! also at first sight davis looks very dead, boring, and cold; but as i walked around more and hung out with a student i knew, davis grew on my a little bit more. im still worried theres nothing to do on weekends, here in berkeley i can head over to sf or oakland or other big cities but, wats there to do at davis?
(o yea at this apartment complex off campus i saw a black evo, black sti w/ silver 5spoke ssrs, a new gen wht supra, and mk3 silver turbo supra. very nice cars all compacted into 1 single parking lot! anyone know who the sti belonged to?)
