I'm bout to get flamed for this one...

What up BAIC,

So some of you may or make not know, but this past weekend, I was SUPER close to trading my 07 WRX Limited in for 05 STi @ Stevens Creek Subaru. The only thing that stopped me was that after the trade-in, the final price would of been around $30,000. I just couldn't find myself spending that much on a 05 with 16,000 miles on it (but damn it was a beautiful car and heaven to drive )

Anyway, lately i've been seeing alot more 08 STis around. Last night, I saw one in San Mateo that just blew my mind. Lowered on coilovers, aggressive Advans, tinted windows, exhaust, and a bunch of other goodies. I then fell in love with it and all these ideas started popping up in my head about everything I could do with it...

(you Hella Flush guys know what i'm talkin about)

so my question is, am I retarded for even considering trading in my 07 WRX for a 08-09 STi?? To everyone that owns one, what do you guys think about it?

Here is my car now....

I like your current set up. If you were to go with an 08-09 youd be starting totaly from scratch, and would have to dump a lot of money into it to get it "up to speed" to were your at now.

If you feel like starting over with a fresh canvas, why not?
Although, you would have to change your avatar then...

I know about the car in San Mateo that your talking about and it does look really good. I would say it is the best looking of the new 08's. I really like yours but you can go hella hella fluch with a new 08

The 08 can get 11s under those fenders, right? Thats right up your alley. Plus you may save some $$ and headaches going with the STi right off the bat instead of going forward with that 'surgery' you spoke of.

Oh, the 08s suffer the same craptastic tune as the 07s, so plan on some EM off the bat or a protune for the ultimate peace of mind.

Do it ! As Henry says.... 18x10.5"s on stock fenders all day ! LOL see if they will give you better trade in value for your 07 cause your spending more money... or like the other people say you can part out your parts (cause none of them are going to fit) and use that money to make up for the loss your going to take on the trade in....
It's actually all bout your cash flow though.... if you can afford a higher payment than your use to it go for it... if its gonna put you in a cash crunch you have to think if the extra horsepower and the six speed are really worth it .... are you going to put them to use ?

Shagon, well I had my money straight to trade for the 05 STi but, it would just be a stupid idea for spend $30,000 for an 05. F***! I don't know...

I really just want to hear some reviews from actually 08 owners. I heard the 09 was supposed to be alot more solid.

if you think you can make the 08/09 stand out like never before then go for it. but only do it if you can handle the payments and the spending for the mods. and if you do decide to do it sell me your rear strake add ons!!

I have an 08 wrx that you can check out if you want. I know its not the same as the STi but might give you a better idea.
