Didn't think I'd like it (I'm a 31 year old man for gosh' sake!) - but I'm a fan boy too. If I could afford it, I'd pick up the DVD sets. Got my 25 year old girlfriend addicted too. It's all we did for months (watchn an episode or two a day). Love it!

I got up to Episode 14 or so of Stage 1 and it just couldn't keep my interest. I enjoy(ed) it.. maybe I'll have to sit down and watch some more. What was irritating is that my favorite anime is Ghost In The Shell and its in English... not dubbed, not subtitled. I don't have to stare at the screen w/o blinking so as to not miss the dialog. With Initial D I have to refrain from anything else. Its not so bad for an anime movie, but for a series it gets tedious.
We should hire some think-accented, easily excitable, English speaking japanese guys to dub it for us

the car graphics get much better in later stages. Sileighty race was good, i agree. Then there are even more races later on. I thought the FC vs. Evo III race was pretty good. I have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (movie) DVDs. They need to start animating the later episodes. Because later on, i found through reading the manga, that Bunta (takumi's father) gets a WRX!!! A GC8, quite possibly a 22b. And they race, father and son. so yeah, really looking forward to seeing a 22b in initial d.
