just my 2 cents on this to you ------ ive owned (street and just track only race car) ae86's turbo 16v to 20v blacktop ae86's LOVE itbs!! ive had on fc turbo for drifting good car not so good for grip unless u put some money into it compared to the ae86 240's as well i had 6.... 1 with sr20det red top love that motor!! but cant take much of a beat!! on the track . also had a rb25det SUX for grip unless u balance it and move it into the fire wall which is ALOT of wrk(cutting and ALOT of fab wrk) balance needs to be gained compared to the sr BUT if you want SMOKE and did i say drift smoke rb is the way to go love the RB sound with a external waste gate but for balance sr20det stock motor good power after 5k suxs tho for stock you can mod but for stock is what i speak on this. i now own a s2000 race preped car and daily drive a 05 sti just sold my last silver top ae86 for $650 a motor with itb's is very good if you can get the blk top go for it open itbs for $950 the suxi part is these cars sale for more since the initial d(usa version)/drifting/tokyo drift stuff has happend BUT if you get a decent deal go for it its the "CAR THAT TEACHES" the driver skills do to its slowness makes you make it fast or push it to the limit look for a gts if not sr5(only if you plan on doing a swap!!)if not gts coupe if you want grip and liftback if you want more for drift ive had a few on both side so it does make a differance just my 2 cents for ya giving u my personal experience

i had a miata super good and affordable grip car for scca autox events the s2000 is more of the wide open track car that can out handle a miata in FAST tracks the miata has a quicker steer move do to the smaller wheel base than a s2k and a more enjoyable mountain/TOUGE car plus for the money thats a big plus!!

haha cool... yeah ill you know.. man this is still up in the air.. but i think realistically my budget is going to be around 3000 give or take.... I would love to have a AE86 GT-S but everyone wants an arm and a leg and there not in decent shape... the look is still on...
