Has anyone thought about using History Park in San Jose? It's got huge amounts of parking, an ice cream place on site and is known to be car show friendly.

Oh man, tell me about it! I'd love this, but as the past has shown us, it's hard to rely on people. Someone can tell you that they will do xyz for the event, and as time goes by they forget or lose interest and bail on us which leaves a huge gap that I need to fill. We actually do have people helping out in the way that you mentioned, but they aren't all members of this forum, they are mostly my family or best friends. We do have some i-clubbers who help but it's only a few guys that I can rely on... We need like 15 more.
Our team is about 8 large including my wife and family.

The great thing about Stafford Lake is the venue. It's on the grass and is much more comfortable for everyone... Plus the running water, great grills, shade, and great parking. It's pretty much the ideal place for us. I'm very glad that we're not stuck standing in a parking lot the whole day at Stafford, that's a HUGE plus.

I think there first needs a committee to get things in order.
Event Planner - Someone to scope out different locations and get all necessary permits and insurance needed.
Treasurer(s) - keeps account of all the accounting and costs and ticket sales.
Vendor management person - to organize the vendors that are willing to participate and assign them spots, makes sure they pay and what they are going to contribute
Entertainment Czar- Organize games and events
Car show judges and organizers
Food preparation and setup
Clean up crew
Parking lot attendants
Theses are some ideas i'm throwing out there.
It would be nice to form a group instead of someone just doing everything all at once.

i second this idea
and the treasurer has to make public all expenditures and show all reciepts
and i agree as well of maybe holding off on donating this years money and helping the vendors out.
and yes they make big jumpies for adults... and yes i know a guy, it wouldnt really be that much. might add 1 to $2 more per person
and i say there should be some serious *** regulating with the wristband-food distribution

Also, we could maybe do some type of golf tournament early that morning since Indian Valley Golf Course is right there. Maybe some type of 9 hole scramble with prizes for those who want to golf. Might not be viable but could be fun!

Also, I really don't know why this didn't happen this year, but anything that was Pre-Purchased really should be on a Printed List. This year just goes to show, that if the list is not printed out, then the computer can die and all types of havoc can be caused.
Definitely +1 for having a committee to run the event.

I think the softball idea would be cool, or any sort of field sport is always fun
Stafford lake was really fun, but the heat was horrible IMHO. lol I dont do well in the heat to begin with so I had a hard time out at the park. I cant imagine having to play a sport in the heat.
