OK..Heads UP!!..
Not to burst your bubble but I know that dealership and Kambi...Well dont know him personally but a little info..
That dealership is known to bring in cars from out of state with slight damages and sell them here...
Try to see if you can get a little history from the Subaru Service, or look around for any body damages...

They used to be partners with a company here in San Bruno that went belly up because the DMV shut them down for selling damaged vehicles and brandishing titles..
Take it and have it inspected! And when everything checks out!!...Enjoy it!

Because there is a massive list of the people who have had it fixed by warranty, and anybody who knows much about the recent sti's knows this............or anybody who visits the iwsti forum.
hence why the STOP SALE was even initiated in the first place.
guess you haven't been doing your homework????
how many 07 sti's have you tuned just curious?
I'm pretty sure if I mentioned this on iwsti people would be pretty worried a professional tuner didn't even know about the issue.
BRUCELEE- Did I see you out at montague/junction?? in SJ?

Relax, take a deep breath and lets travel down the 07 STi information highway.
First, yes, the 2007 STi has had well documented issues with running lean from the factory (that is fact) and cracking ringlands. While reading NASIOC and IWSTI you might feel paranoia at all the "Blown 07" threads, remember, that is a tiny percent of cars sold. It is hard to determine what exactly caused the ringlands to go, some speculate it is a casting issue on a certain batch of pistons, others say it is the way the car was modded, others point to the way it is driven on the stock tune. Impossible to know for sure.
My advice would be to get the following done in this order:
• Go to your shop of choice and get a compression/leakdown to see whats going on in there.
• Have said shop give it a once over to make sure all is kosher.
• If the compression and leakdown tests come back ok, I'd then make a call to Ed (I'm a fan of road tunes) to have a basic tune done on the car if you have no intention of adding parts. You'll be shocked when you feel the way this car is supposed to feel after that tune, that annoying low RPM jerkiness will be just a bad memory and you won't have to worry about that BS open/closed loop tuning issue that causes this MY to run dangerously lean above a certain RPM (this was done by SOA to allow the car to pass stricter emissions regulations).
Anyway, thats my advice from one 07 owner to another. I've read all the paranoia threads, sifted through the BS and this is what I've came out with, I hope it is of use to you and all works out good. The 07 is a hell of a car once you get the bugs SOA gave us worked out. If you're ever in SF and want a ride in a protuned STi to feel the difference let me know.
Good luck and congrats!
