I went out this morning car-less, came back with a new car! :-D
So I finally did it, I made up my mind, went to the stealership and got a new car!
It was a tough choice between the EVO and STi, but I couldn't stray away from my Subaru roots, so I went with the STi.
This is the one I got exactly:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=17
The car is as loaded as you can get an STi, minus navigation. Comes with everything from premium sound, foglights, to auto-mirror. 6 disc MP3 deck
I talked them down to $25,600! The car looks brand new, only 11k miles on it... Still has the new car smell even. Just a couple of little nicks here and there from rocks, but overall its clean! It came with some sort of exhaust which I'll probably change... As I was looking at the engine I noticed the I/C didn't have "STi" written on it... Is this normal? It looked like this:
I always thought the STi i/c's had STi written on them.
I'm going to be putting my black wheels on it soon and will be lowering it.
Man, I can't believe how much better this car is then my old TR! Like two different cars.
I'd just like to thank you guys for helping me decide on what to get... Either choice would have been great, but I've always wanted an STi, ever since 1998... This will be my third subie, the first was a 2000 2.5RS, second was a 2006 WRX TR that got pwn3d by a tree, and now a 2007 STi.
I really wanted white, but for some reason white always eludes me... I think the gray will be a nice change since it wont be hard to wash like my old black one and even my blue ridge pearl one. I hate washing!

Now is really the time to buy a car if you have the ability to do so - since the interest rate is at 1% or so. Same can be said for homes. Only thing you DON'T want to do with the economy right now is drive up your credit card balances.

Yeah, I guess the guy who owned it before me damaged the STi I/C somehow and put a regular I/C on it as a quick fix and had to sell it because of debt.
Its a quick fix, so no big deal. The rest of the car however is untouched.
Damn, I forgot that the STi has a different bolt pattern as the WRX! Arrrg! Oh well, I guess I can sell these and get wheels for the STi.
Now I gotta disable the lame *** day time running lights! So annoying. I was surprised at how stiff the suspension was on this car... Compared to my TR which had TEIN springs it feels much stiffer which is fine by me. Also, I can shift the 6 speed soooo much faster then the 5speed! The clutch is weird, but I'll get used to it.
Just an overall improvment in EVERY department which came as a surprise to me. I had no idea that the STi was so many light years ahead of the regular WRX. Now I can see why people spend an extra 10k to get an STi over a WRX, its well worth it. I don't even need to mod this car, its perfect the way it is. Only mods will be an STi I/C and lowering it. It has a boost gauge and everything else on it already (including tinted windows! w00t!)
