You should really think this through before you get it. That is something that would not look good going across a whole forearm. Just my opinion, I would hate to see you trying to do a cover up piece in a year.

You in the south bay? Da-Wei in Santa Clara. Ain't cheap, but he does great work. He may not tattoo over a scar though, so best to call them.

You guys rock, I think I found the guy I want to do this, thanks to Mr Buzz Santa Cruz. Wonder how much it will cost... No shading really, just filling.
Thinking of ditching the wood and doing it in gray scale.

Maybe I should get some 3-D looking bomb tattoo'd on my arm, lol. They'd like that I bet.

What do you guys think of the tattoo in the pic I posted? Would it have been better if I went the black and gray scale instead of using the wood grain color.

You can still have the wood grain done in greyscale - I think it would read better as such rather than in color. The rifle bits will be black/grey anyway, and then have these blobs of color for the stock, forestock, etc. Might look a bit unbalanced, hence my suggestion of greyscale.
I sincerely hope you do go to Samuel O'Reilly's - it's a top notch shop full of incredible artists who are genuinely nice people. ZERO attitude. I am highly likely to continue giving them my money.
