I want to sell my 07 STi and buy an EVO-X+

LoL at the master cylinder.. if any of those EVO owners are previous DSM owners, changing master/slave clutch cylinders should be a piece of cake.
damn those evo Xs look nice.. it realy makes the 8, 9 look so dated. i like that color lcd..
they are doing it throughout a few of their vehicles that matter most to Mitsu, which is only the Outlander hah, the EVO X/lancer and outlander is what is keeping them alive.
the upgraded sound system in the EVO X and Outlander, with that MMCS and rockford audio is bomb diggity! def. worth the extra price, when I heard it and saw the features it definitely made me feel like I didn't have to upgrade if I had the car.
SR20Steve, is the 4G63 still >>> 4B11?
I was reading the later year EVO Xs made close to if not over 300AWHP after just a tune?!?!? damnnnn

Well time will tell with the 4b11 it has its pluses and minuses over the 4g63. The 4g63 is almost bulletproof but so comparing it to a all aluminum couple year old motor might be out of line, lol. Here is some good reading on the 4b11t, looks like some great engineering has gone into this thing. And I might also add that allot of folks are making BIG power with completely stock block as well.

I drove an evo X and an STi in the last week, and ended up buying the STi. The STi feels bigger and a little more "raw" than the Evo. I'm told the Evo can be pushed harder than the STi, and I would not be surprised to see the Evo turn better lap times in the hands of a professional. At least on paper, it looks like it would.
At the end of the day, though, I just loved the sound of the STi and the slightly clanky, mechanical feel of it. I wasn't too hot on the 5-speed Evo, at 70mph on a daily commute, the engine was a little high-strung for my taste. I will admit that the Evo felt like a more technical car, but the STi just pushed more of my buttons.
They are both excellent cars. If you've had an STi and wanted to try something different, I'd say an Evo is a good car to try. Likewise if you've had an Evo for a while and want a very different ride, you might get hooked on an STi. They are both different approaches to a similar problem, namely how to get lap times like a 911 turbo with a price closer to a Camry, and four (or five) doors.
Both are priced almost identically, and you can almost certainly find a local seller willing to haggle nicely.

If you really are the 'handling *****' you claim yourself to be... buy an Elise or an Exige. And don't even argue with me about 'not fitting'. I happen to know someone your same height that drives a Lotus.

Yep, pretty crazy huh? There are folks with just a drop in filter and a tune making slightly over 300 whp. And the only difference in the '10+ X's was the factory tune so every year X is capable of the same in theory with a pro tune.

i think a lot agree, if the car was going to be kept stock, the sti is a better daily.. bigger displacement, the engine not as "high strung" as grumpy mentions..
its when the modding begins where the separation starts.
its just too bad mitsu didnt make the ralliart lancer and that lancer ralliart hatch or watever is called (also with watered down 4b11s turbo awd) didn't come in a standard 5-speed!! why mitsu!??! they really were all about, you either purchase the evo or you get automatic crap versions. they could've got a good share of the WRX market if they made those in a standard 5-speed imo
