I saved my dogs Life!
Today i got from work and went to my backyard to say hi to Hurley(my dog) and he always gets excited when i get home and play with him for a bit. but he didnt want to play ball cause he was hungry so i poured him some food and he started to eat, then all of a sudden he starts choking on food and making like a huffing sound and he wouldnt stop so i panicked and just punched him in the stomach, and this little nugget of food flew out of his mouth! i was like WTF just happened and he was wagging his tail lol. i mean i felt bad for hitting him but it happened so quick, im sure he's ok now....sorry for the paragraph pics for making you read

Aye, that's not a good situation at all (dog choking). My best friend's Rottweiler died from choking on a dog treat a few years back while we all sat there and watched. By the time we realized that he was choking (he wasn't making a sound, just standing there twitching) it was too late. That moment has haunted us all very much over the years... RIP Buford, you were a very gentle giant and we all miss you. He wasn't even 2 years old...
Good job for saving your dog from suffering the same fate. Let this all be a lesson to all of you... Dogs CAN choke, especially when they are hungry and just inhale the food so be careful as to what size the treat/food is when you feed him/her.
Even our large dogs get small pieces to ensure that they never choke... Man, this thread brought back some horrible memories... My heart is racing right now just thinking about it. Buford (RIP) was about 130-140lbs... VERY large, so when we had to carry his lifeless body into the backyard (friend lives in the wood of the sierras, so it was quite a walk) it was almost like carrying a human... Awful thing that no one should ever experience... EVER. My friend Steve was wrecked after that... Ug...
Sorry for the emo post.
