Doctor called...my fasting blood sugar level is 130...said it should be 44 to 99, so I'm a little high.
He won't know the A1c level until tomorrow.
So far, all he's prescribed is:
Low/no carbs, sugar, and MOAR bike riding.
I asked him since I can't drink beer, can I switch to weed?
He said yes.

Diabetes is not that bad... if you control it. https://www.i-club.com/forums/sacramento-reno-116/crash-hazel-orangevale-204369/
It sounds like if you are diabetic you caught it early which it good. I am type one and have been so since I was 10 and I'm 26 now. When I was diagnosed my blood sugar was 1476 so I was in the hospital for about a month. If your diabetic now you should see if you can go to diabetic summer camp it was awesome!

Don't go on the drugs!!
Type 2 is completely reversible with lifestyle changes.
My Dad did 6 weeks of "eat to live" http://www.drfuhrman.com/
Completely reversed, and now just follows some of the tips from the book on eating better & the obvious exercise.
Hope to hear your doctor is wrong!

Umm, I hate to tell you this, but the statement is not quite as accurate or simple as you make it out to be.

Yes your right...my Dad lied.
I am only reporting our experience. He lost 50 lbs, reversed his type II, His BP & Cholesterol dropped to normal levels and much of his digestive issues (most caused by eating a normal American diet) are now resolved.
I am a firm believer that the huge growth in disease in America is the garbage that we eat (not all our fault because most food labels are misleading & the ingredients are mass produced for highest profit rather than nutrients). Drugs for these common problems (BP, Cholesterol, constipation, heart-burn, sleeping problems, etc..) are all there to help us live with a problem, not fix it. It's f'in BS.
Sorry to rant, but the food industry & drug industry(FDA) are not looking out for us.
A rule of thumb, if your great great grandma would not recognize what you are eating, it's probably not real food. If you don't know a word that is in the ingredients of what you are eating, it's probably not real food.
Bread #1 ingredients:
“Unbleached Enriched Wheat Flour [Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Reduced Iron, Niacin, Thiamin Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) Folic Acid], Water, Cracked Wheat, Whole Wheat Flour, Yeast, Barley, Honey, Fructose, Wheat Gluten, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Salt, Wheat Bran, Malt, Ethoxylated Mono-And Diglycerides, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Calcium Propionate (Preservative), Caramel Color, Whey, Soy Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Soy Lecithin, Nonfat Milk.”
Bread #2 ingredients: Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour, Water, Yeast, Salt, Calcium Propionate
hmm
ok rant over.
