well let me add my two cents:

there is a TON of new (2000-2012) fantastic hip/hop and rap out there but it is all underground.

lil wayne is doing something right because he is richer than i am...so at least on a businessman's level...hes playing the market very well. therefore i cant refute what hes doing. do i enjoy his music? not really.

also you cant hate on Lil Wayne for nonsense lyrics.. have you ever heard a song by Kool Keith? he is in my top 5 rappers of all time and 97% of what he says is off the wall nonsense

 

No way man, Dr. Octagon? Haha I did a paper in one of my college classes breaking down and comparing his song Dr. Octagons Blue Flowers reworked and Lupe Fiasco's Gotta Eat. Got a A++ on that paper loll. It was a paper I really enjoyed writing and turned into 12 pages (with mla style quoting that is).
