I hate freeway construction

Caltrans tore off the top layer of asphalt on the overpass right by my work (80 and Reed in West Sacramento) a few weeks ago and has done nothing since. Yesterday on the way in to work a truck kicked up a piece of the asphalt strip caltrans put right in front of the expansion joints on the overpass and it smacked in to the side of my WRX. I have damage to the fender and front door on the drivers side and my car is going back to the body shop on Monday...

sorry, man. That area has been pissing me off too - trucks CONSTANTLY throw rocks up in that section now and you get bombarded with them.

edgar,
How would I go about filing that claim? It would be nice to recover my deductible...

contact caltrans and find out who's responsible for that section of highway.

I'm sure you won't be the first to have reported a problem there.

Report the time and exact place of the insident. Get someone in charge. Fax them photos of your car, the area if you can go back and snap a couple and a couple quotes from local shops.

Keep on them cause they likely will blow you off.

I've gone through this cycle twice and haven't seen a damn thing...but I know they do pay out sometimes....friend of mine got covered with paint from one of the cal trans trucks a while back...they payed for it to get repaired.
