LOL...a different perspective...

Yea, the speed limit might be 25, but still common sense must rule. If you drive by someone in the street you just might want to slow down a little bit. Unless you trust them completely. Me, I don't trust anyones judgement or will to survive, so I always slow down when I get near people or when I think they might be near by. You just never know when some pedestrian will walk/ride/run right in front of your car in an unintentional attempt to end his/her life. It happened to me. Me and my boys ran some dude over, while doing the speed limit. No harm no foul for us, the cops said we did everything right, and we were on our way. Unlucky pedestrian,...hospitol. I don't ever want to run anyone over again (for the record, I wasn't driving).

In anycase at 25MPH, if you hit someone, you just might kill them. Why take the chance. On my way to MY house I always keep it at about 15. So far it's saved the life of some kid on a bike and two suicidal cats. Ever since the incident with the guy getting hit, my imagination always gets the better of me. Thinking that there's some stupid kid hiding behind a parked cars bumper waiting to run into the street after his ball just as I'm coming down the street doing 25.

Perhaps I just have the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I hate the little turtle. come back with the scraper and run it over doing 10 mph asking him if its slow enough.

Its like reflex to yell at me when they see a 16 year old asian male in a bright red suby.

yea dumb people equate a loud car with speed. you can be going 15mph and theyll look at you scarred as hell, as if your going 60mph right at them.

Then you need to get:

from 25mph, you should be able to stop in about two car lengths if you clamp down on these...

At that speed those will add no benefit over stock brakes. If you can lock the stockers far enough to make the ABS kick in, those will do the same. Depending on the compound you have for pads and what temp you are at, the stockers may even have better braking at that speed.

Some lady gave me a look as well. My speedo indicated 25, but according to my GPS it's probably more like 23 or 24.

Some people need to worry about their own $hit.

whether or not 25 is the speed limit, its not a safe speed at all. you all kinds of factors, like little kids and pets. you go 25 and i bet you wont stop fast enough if a kid or pet were to just run out on the street.

well, if you're paying attention and are aware of your surroundings, then this shouldn't be a problem in a residential area. If you see kids playing anywhere, be aware that one *may* feel the need to run out into the street infront of you as you approach, and be ready.
