After my last wrangle with "johhny law" and speeding tickets I found out that IF a certain county or city wants to impose a limit of 15 or 20 mph over the speed limit as not eligible for traffic school they can. example is my last ticket. I was over 15 mph over and the Garberville court ala Humboldt county said "nobody can take traffic school if going over 15mph over" I got a point and had no choice

This rule is not state of calif issue it is a county/city issue.

kewl. Thanks for clearing it up. I guess it does depend on the county. I got my ticket in El Dorado county.

I don't think you can go to traffic school if you already have a point.

It shouldn't matter how many points you have on your record. As long as it's been over 18 months since your last traffic school, you should be able to go.

Yeah I havent been to traffic school in over 4 years. Having a pre-existing point shouldnt and is not a determining factor Mr 100!

I will post if it is as I will find out within a week or so. Mr100 I dont like your imagination hahahaha nothing personal.

well the drum roll continues as I searched earlier today on some legal website stuff and found nothing. except the generic eighteen months between opportunities for traffic school It may be one of those deals that will depend on the court and their thoughts about the spefics such as how fast i was going ect ect.

The cop said if your area allows it you can take traffic school. the sacramento website said that its essentially up to the judge/.court so the dice are rollin...........

update

Whew........... I found out I can take traffic school. I am greatful in a way because the cop cited me for a slower speed than I was actually going.and he said so while he was writing me up. The court gal stated that "if you were going 1 mph faster you would not be able to take traffic school.

I allready have one point on my record due to a speeding ticket in that same area which happened last august.

so Im still out 200.00 something bucks. It coulda been worse.
