I Finally Got My Car Back!!! (tues 03/23/04)

It had been almost 5 weeks since my baby went into the shop, but i finally got her back. Damn i forgot how hard that clutch is.

I couldn't be happier. Ok i could.
1) if it hadn't took so so.
2) if the rear bumper fit properly
3) if they would have removed some of the oil from covering parts of the engine. The thing smokes now when it begins to heat up.

but still

have them fix the rear bumper, and then have your engine compartment steam-cleaned...

I agree, take it back. You should be 100% happy with the results. It's what you and your insurance paid for. Did they end up covering the clutch?

I talked about the bumper with the guy, and he said "it should 'in the heat' relax into the right place." It sounded like a bunch of crap but i made them work it as much as possable before i left the shop. If it's still messed up in a few days he said bring it back and they would try to fix it.

I am planning a short drive this Sunday just up on Geyers Rd. I have a friend at work that said he would like to do a drive. He drives a Nissan Sentra something or other. Not great, but it has alittle umf. His cousin is a Subie guy and may come also. If anyone wants a come along we could try to extend it alittle and have some fun.

I do want to run the "Mountains & Valleys" drive again soon (backwards) but i want to do it on a Saturday under Darkstars request. It's the least i could do since he help push my car out of the ditch. When he has a real F'd up back. I'll let you all know the date soon.

Oh and Huck. The clutch was covered 100%. Subaru said that the 2003 WRX is just about to have a recall on the clutch and they covered it. I'm not sure if that totally true. But that's what the guy at the shop told me. And if it is true, all you 2003's out there have fun and burn the hell out of those clutches

Hey Rich,

Great news on getting your car back.

I'm trying to set up a class assignment photo shoot for a Saturday in early April - but I do not want it to clash with the drive. Please let me know ASAP which SATURDAY you are doing the drive, so that I can schedule the photo shoot on the other Saturday!!

Thanks,

Jane

it'll most likely be the 17th or the 24th. One of those weekends my aunt and uncle are coming to visit so i have to figure it out. Who knows maybe i can get my Uncle to come. He use to take me for drives all the time whe i was a kid. I wasn't quite as fast as us but he was up there.

Thanks Noah, it had been a long wait.

Jeremy, i'll talk to my friend Jerrell about what time will work best with him for this Sunday's drive. Most likely sometime around noonish.
