I did the COOLEST thing today! (Pic)
Man, it was so great... I was standing on our coffee table to fetch my cat off the book stand (in my socks) when I slipped and ate **** and rolled over my ankle with all my weight. My wife had just waxed the table so it was SUPER slick. The cat landed on it's feet of course, and I guess I sort of did too until my foot rolled over and tore something (whatever is in my foot, ligaments?)
This is a couple hours after it happened, so I know it will be much worse tomorrow. You can't see the comparison on the other foot, but it's swollen as hell and I can't even put my shoe on... The purple area is growing at a rapid rate. An hour ago it was about 3/4 of the size... I snapped the pic about 10 mins ago so I'm sure it will get much bigger tomorrow morning.

Either a tendon or ligament, can't remember from my anatomy class.. Anyways sorry to hear what happened. You'll be on a crutch for a while. Don't put any pressure at all on it. Expect 4-6 weeks to heal. Luckily u did not land on your knee.

Thanks for the info. I have been putting lidacane patches on the affected area and using a crutch because it hurts soooo damn much to put any pressure on ot. It sucks the D.

False advertising on the thread title. I thought you got into a bus fight too
P.S. I know you have a kung fu background so you'll know what I mean when I tell you to put some tit da jow on the purple area. It'll dissipate all that blood that's settled inside there.

yea, done that in muay thai. Rolled ankles are not fun. Go get a bucket of water, put ice in it and stick your foot in there until you can't feel it any more. It'll help with the swelling. And once it starts to heal, you need to regain movement in your ankle. The best exercise for it is to spell ABCs with the tip of your foot while you extend your leg in front of you, hope that helps!

I stayed off of it as much as possible, wrapped it, and did a 30min on 30min off ice regimen. I was back and walking in about a week. Just in time to go to the X-Games.
