I can haz a CEL?
alright so today wasn't the best day...
Went over to yogurtland to get rid of teh munchies, finish up and walk back to my car. I proceed to start it and I get the worst start up idle I could imagine.
The car is shaking like as if someone was using one of their arms to shake my B pillar. In addition, my shifter is shaking pretty badly as well.
I pull out of the asian center and bam she throws a steady CEL with a flashing cruise control. DAMMIT. Staying out of boost I go to back to school to finish up my last class. In class I was trying to figure out the problem (as she's thrown a CEL before, but my dad thought it was the boost gauge I installed so i took it out, reset the ecu and problem was "solved" until now).
Car shaking out of usual flat 4 shimmy....could it be knock? I have been using CA 91 rated octane ever since I got it so detonation shouldnt be a problem, but I recall reading some posts on here that some people have been having problems with CA gas? That being said, does anyone fill up their car with the 91 gas from ARCO located on Automall's grimmer? (located on the intersection near subydude). Could this be why their prices are way lower than the rest of the stations?
Anyways, arranged to go back to Stevens creek Subaru to get the OBD scan and hopefuly fixed.
cliff notes: turn on car, CEL turns on with strange left-right shaking, arco possibly has bad gas.

also, u kno that hose that comes from the diversion valve used to tap for boost gauges? Before, I cut it, and now I've connected it again usin a plastic connector with zip ties. and i've done the silencer delete, this shouldnt be the problem rite?

its def. not the gas. but the reason Arco is cheaper than shell and chevron is cuz they dont add other fluids to their oil that help your engine last longer. the gas is the same all 91 octane. just them extra lubes.
goodluck with the fix

sorry to make u guys wait haha, problem solved. blkdout04 was right, misfire cyl 1 which would explain the ugly shaking i got.... strange thing is that the problem was due to "stepping on gas to warm up engine quicker on start up" something like that. I don't do it is what weirds me out but hey alls well that ends well!
