I am beta testing Auto Modellista

I am testing out the online portion of the game. Pretty nice graphics! Since it's a beta, it's crashing a lot.

Subaru representation includes a GDB WRX, GC8Kai 22b and a 360! Nice to see a cell shaded 22b. You can actually change the color off the cars, so I was actually using a RED 22b. Oh the humanity! Haha. I can't make any adjustments to the car on this beta. It looks really promising though.

Well, it's definitely not GT3 a-spec. Game play is ok. I use AT transmission but you can still downshift when needed. Like I said you can't make adjustments to the cars on this beta. I think you can in final. I wish I can take out the sway/roll on the WRX. But you can rice out the rex by putting stripes and swooshes all over it.

It's for the PS2. I'm not sure if a burned copy will run on a PS2.

I played more last night. I found that lag may be a major problem. There were a couple of races where I swore I won but when the results came up I was in 2nd. Oh well.

There are three playable courses Mpintain type, city type and circuit type.

There's a chicane on the circuit race where if you go off course on to the sand you come to almost a complete stop. You have to go throught the chicane clean to win. That's pretty cool.

The mountain course reminds me of the ountain in Intial D Third Stage. It's a wind-y, uphill climb. The WRX spun out a lot on that course. The AE86 was pretty stable.

The city-course is pretty short but what's cool is the fact that it's raining. AWD cars have an advantage. Skylines, Lancers and Imprezas usually win this race.

It seems from when I was racing most people chose the Honda NSX or Mazda RX-8. Skylines (33's and 34's) are also favored. A few folks pick the 22b. I feel as if I drive the WRX better than the 22b, so I use the WRX more. Still have to try the 360.

Im also in the beta

I'm also in the beta and quite honestly, I think the graphics kinda blow.

I dont believe there is a single piece of 3d Animation incorporated into the game. Which basically means that this game could've been done on a SuperNintendo back in the early nineties. OK that's an exaggeration, but this game cant touch Gran Turismo in graphics OR gameplay.

Speaking of game play. Blah. I couldnt get the NSX to oversteer for the life of me which is a load of crap. If you throw an NSX into a turn at 6,000 RPMs and then hit full throttle you ARE going to see the rear end come out on you. I feel as though the WRX understeers too much also. Steering feels odd and the cars are too big for how wide the roads are.

I'm still playing it though. Maybe they'll tweak the physics a bit, but I'd be shocked if the next version of Gran Turismo didnt have an Internet component that puts this to utter shame.

PS - Can you say RICE, cuz that's who they're catering to.

It's cell shaded. I don't think the graphics are meant to be as rendered they are in GT3. It really supposed to look like were watching anime cars.

Gameplay needs work.
