hydra 2.6 and autotune feature question?

i wanted to know if anyone is running the hydra 2.6.

for those that are running it, would you recommend the autotune feature?

i am looking into it for my car (91 legacy) and was told that there will be a preloaded map loaded to the ecu.

it'll end up with a custom tune once the ecu is installed.

thanks in advance.

The auto tune feature is nice to get the fuel map roughly within range but you always have to go back and tweek and smooth out the map by hand.

Thanks

so would getting the autotune feature help with the actual tune?

or something you can take care of?

yes the autotune feature is nice to use, but Hydra has changed it from the previous versions to only be used with the VE fuel map. It is no longer useful if you're going to use the Injector pulse width base fuel map. You will still need to roughly map out the VE table before even attempting to use autotune. But the 2.6 overall is much more user friendly and IMO is leaps and bounds better than my old 2.5.

Its not something that is really necessary for me to tune the car. It could aid in tuning certain areas of the map that are more difficult to spot, but that's mainly it.

The 2.6 is definitely leaps and bounds better than the 2.5. Its finally starting to catch up to the AEM in terms of functionality and usability. The VE map was a critical step in the right direction IMO.

No problem. We'll get it running well with the Hydra.
