Nope... i live in Eureka and work in Samoa. But I have been out to the jetty, you can take your car on the beach and drive as fast as you want but you have to have a orange flag to be legal...as for that gravel road its fun but the BLM will give you a nasty ticket if they catch you going over 15 MPH.

Okay. So me and Taylor (somethingclassy) have been talking off and on for a while about organizing a local rally cross event.

Problem #1: Location
Problem #2: How legit do we get? Insurance? Permission to use the land?...etc

Problem #2 is only an issue if we get more than 5 cars I would say.

Thoughts? Ideas?
We need to start scouting some areas.

Maybe talk to Psoper (Bay area rally dude). Also, talk to RSCC (Redwood Sports Car Club) the folks that organize the Hoopa Hill Climb. I know they avoid some issues by using Tribal land, but it may still be worth a try!!

I rally cross event on private land would probably be the easiest. Public use areas are a possibility as well, maybe even a UHV area....

I would def talk to the RSCC they have meetings every month, I think that would be the best.

I'm a member of the RSCC. Talking with them would do no good, other than finding out who insures their events. They have absolutely no plans to ever do off road events. They are to say it bluntly; old and stuck in their ways.

Edit talked to VP of RSCC I will attend there next meeting to ask them for hellp.

Put out a craigslist ad asking to use someones private property to host a rally cross event? Might work

Ya I was mainly thinking that they could offer suggestions to get an event going, not to ask them to help or sanction it. But ya never know, they might be interested...

More people is more fun! Too bad that stupid van was in our way as we were coming back in. Hopefully we can keep increasing our numbers with the next meet.

I'll try to remember to bring the camera next time.

Good times running into Jared and meeting up with Forrest at Oysterfest. It looks like most of my July is locked up with other plans that take me out of the area but we should set up something for August!
