anyone else ever go to sidelines in arcata i am teh drunk right now.
I usually hit up Sidelines on Thursday nights and TJ's on Wednesdays. I haven't been since the first pint nights of the semester though. I'd be down to go next week though.

Anything interesting to do there? More importantly, can anyone recommend any good bars for local brews?
I'm not super with the area that far south. Mendocino isn't too far south. It's a quaint little Northern California coastal town. Along highway 20 there are quite a few small vineyards. Mendocino Brewing Company is in Ukiah which is kind of on the way. Their Eye of the Hawk is pretty solid but my favorite is their Blue Heron. It's light but has a good amount of flavor.

As far as Northern Humboldt Brews there's Lost Coast's 8 Ball Stout. If you like something with some really full body there's Steelhead Double IPA by Mad River Brewing company

In Healdsburg there is Bear Republic which has some beers that I like.

In Fort Bragg there is a good seafood place, but I cannot remember the name. I used to spend a lot of time there but not so much in recent years. Google maps could tell you as much as I

I think it'd get buried under the Bay Area threads but it couldn't hurt.

Hey everyone, im back now from a short vacation and I just installed the new gasket and im happy to say it fixed my leak! so I have 3 twinscroll gaskets in there, sheesh... anyways here in the next week or 2 I am going to get in on an appt for a tune then Ill be ready to start boosting and then hopefully meet up down there. Hopefully my wife would like to make a day trip and go to target or the mall (since she thinks its silly to meet up with other suby owners by traveling out of town to do so).

RTV it man, just to be safe. I would hate to hear that you lost spool on the dyno because the gaskets decided to blow out as soon as some real boost hits. I have been there too many times, and it is expensive and frustrating!! Not to mention that 4200 RPM peak boost sucks...

On a side note, I am now the somewhat proud owner of a 98 L. It is a beater, and it needs some TLC, but the RS market is just unrealistic for what you get (a $200 front bumper and some fog lights.)

It is getting some 17x7.5 Rota Tarmac II this weekend, WRX sway bars, and some 06 WRX hubs and 4 pots weekend after next. My extra Recaro SSL is already in it, and it has been de-winged Tint, fender braces (the SINGLE BEST steering mod for a suby BTW), bushings, and other bits are to follow.

And, of course, it has a full Ej-255 with a VF-39 ready to drop in once I have some downtime to splice the 06 WRX harness and ECU

Sounds awesome! and I will use some rtv. On another note my wife decided to just keep the RS afterall and im just going to replace the motor with a lower mileage one whenever it decides to go out, along with the Trans. She said she doesnt need a wrx or the power of one, she'd rather have the look of the RS than a newer wrx. I agree they are sweet looking, even more when its got a full sti transplant tho. I have some gold Rota Tarmac 2 18x7.5 that are used with falken tires, they are actually whats installed on my car, I was planning on selling them with the 50-60% tread thats left and get some Rota Grids. If your interested lemme know, but the 17x7.5 would probably suit your needs better, unless you decide to get brembo's up front then you'll need the 18x7.5 tarmacs.

haha ya keeping it is a good plan. The way we get attached to cars we would never be happy with what we can get out of them...especially if any work has been put into them!!

I am keeping for 17" for weight, and because I am going to swap my Bridgestone LM-25 onto them so I will have full tread depth tires already. And they fit over my 4 pots Next set will probably be another set of 17x9 DPTs, or maybe some 17x9 torques.

I wasnt aware they made 17x9 torques, hmm, the RS has 17x7.5 torques but there just isnt enough concave, thought I would have to go with the Real deal to get that from torques. Oh if only they would make 18x9.5 tarmac 2's
