HPCC FOR SALE!!! Anyone wanna help pitch in?
CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) have recently announced the opportunity of buying the Honda Proving Center (HPCC), which is located in an unincorporated area of Kern County, seven miles north of California City.
The HPCC consists of approximately 4,255 acres, including the former American Honda motorcycle and automobile test tracks, related facilities and other improvements.
The main site (~ 3,797 acres) is improved with specialized test tracks, support facilities and infrastructure, designed to implement a broad range of automobile, motorcycle and ATV vehicle and product evaluations.
According to CBRE, on-site paved test courses including a 7.5 mile oval track and 4.5 mile winding road, modeled after common North American public roads, dirt roads, gravel roads, motocross / supercross race tracks and natural desert terrain for a full range of test conditions.
The main site has perimeter fencing and a private 1.5 mile asphalt driveway leading to a security office, gated access, and the office/warehouse buildings. Also included are the out-parcel land sites totaling an extra ~ 457 acres.
“The recent closure of the facility and sale offering has provided a rare chance for one lucky buyer to secure the extensive facility that would be cost prohibitive to reproduce or duplicate today,” a statement from CBRE reads.
“The main Honda site (~ 3,797 acres) has completed all the requirements for the Desert Tortoise Habitat plan, allowing a "fast-track" approach to potential development for solar farm uses, should an interested party (hopefully not) desire to change the use of the property,” the statement adds.
CB Richard Ellis have not disclosed any selling price.

Jeremy, that would be trespassing, which is illegal. I am pretty sure i-club as a rule about posting illegal activities.
However, if there is a group of people that would be interested in "taking a tour of the property," I would be down for that.

Let's round up about 200 members, and drive on down for a tour of the facilities.
We're the Impreza Motoring Consortium, and we're interested in possibly purchasing this fine facility for our tuning, testing and proving grounds.
I'm sure the vendors here would all contribute - and maintain satellite shops down there for our use.
