How is Ron Price in downtown SF's service?

Greetings.

I've searched and seen several negative posts about the service department at Ron Price's SSF location, but could not find any comments about their shop in downtown SF. Has anybody been there? Opinions?

My 02 WRX is experiencing the typical fuel leak when the temperature drops below freezing and I would usually take it down to Carlson, but was hoping to save the drive.

Thanks.

- Matt

Thumbs down

Please avoid Ron Price Subaru Service at ALL cost. They do nothing but rip you off and give you the run around.

I bought my WRX from Ron Price, only beause they could get the last 05 WRX in Aspen white in the whole Nor-Cal. Their customer service sucks, they weren't too friendly. When we met with the manager to finalize the deal, he showed me on the computer screen that the total would be $24,550 with out tax/registration etc. I told him the sales guy said $24,550 OTD + Free Arm rest. All he said was, "ok" no apology or anything. In addition, they did not fill up my gas tank and it was on 'E'. So they gave me some special reciept to take to a local Shell to get it filled up and bring it back to them.

Also, since the service department was not open on Saturday, they said they would mail me out the armrest. I waited 1 week and nothing showed up, so I called the manager and told him my situation and it was finally sent out.

CN: Ron Price's customer service sucks donkey *****!

i've taken my car there a few times because it was so close to work.
the first time i went there for a cracked seat rail and had told them that the warranty lock washer had already been installed and that was not the problem.
i pick the car up and all they did was replace the bolt and washer.
i had to take it back the next day to get it fixed and this time they replaced the seat rail.

their customer service is 'better' than the SSF location, maily because less people go there and they can spend s little more time with you, but their techs are suspect.

i just got my 02 wrx transmission replaced there under warranty. no questions. no hassles. i never even got a call back after they told me it was b0rk3d. just took a few weeks to locate a transmission and put it in. but other than that everything went pretty smooth when i was totally expecting the worst.

but my car is stock...

it was a very a pretty long scratch, but it was light. I dont know if they will help you though because they only did it for me cause it was like the first week I got the car

Subaru of Santa Cruz - trust me, it's worth the drive

Tons of dealerships closer to Davis, but I still make the drive down there if I need anything done.

Thanks to everyone for the input. There's definitely a mix of people with bad experiences and good experiences at the downtown SF location. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the fuel leak, I'll report back if I end up trying out Ron Price in the city.
