no way do i laugh at people who move out, i laugh at my friends that dont know what they have at home with their family...they leave it behind so they can party and attract girls. with $500-$1000 taken out of their pockets a month when they are working 3 weeks a month just for rent.

I wanted to see some of the older peoples post first so I could feel better about myself ..... And I moved out before Win98 was out

 

Look, I'll admit it. I'm 2 years out of college and I still live at home. I'm not proud of it. Why? Because I'm still trying to "establish" myself out in the real world so someday I can afford to move out. It's expensive out there, but it's possible. I do live in a good location where everything's close by, freeways, shopping at my favorite grocery stores, friends, etc. I'd like to land my ideal job in the design field, move out in the peninsula or So Cal, but I'm not there yet. So I'm staying put until my portfolio and my experience is good enough where I'll get a better control of my career, make enough to live my life the way I want it, and be happy with what I do.

So for now, my RS is bone stock. All I can do is THINK about what car I'd like to get when I get there and work on getting the early (and rough) start of my design career out of college done. It doesn't matter how old you are or how much money you make really. If you're content with what you do and how you live, that's all that matters. I wouldn't worry about the people raggin' about living on your own or the people raggin' on people who still live with their folks.

 

whoa there... I never said anything negative about people moving out on there own. And, BTW, my car doesn't have much money put into. Its mostly stock, only exhaust and a tune. You get up on your soap box about how all of us are so stupid for living at home. You base your perception of me based on a couple sentences from an internet message board.

Congratulations, you are young, independent, and seemingly quite successful for some one of your age. Based on that, I think its safe to assume that you are smart and make good decisions. However, not everyone who went out on their own at 17 is successful as you. Just because I don't/didn't make the same decisions you did, how does that make me naive and stupid? I would rather live at home and have money to spend and save, than live paycheck to paycheck. If I moved out now, that would be my situation. I have been out of college for 5 months and make an entry level salary.

And, how exactly am I in for a rude awakening? I don't know how to function in the real world? I don't know about paying bills? Well, thats partially true since I have never had to pay rent and other associated expenses. But I pay for my car, insurance, phone bill, credit cards, etc.

In all honesty, I don't want to get into an argument. I like i-club and the people on it. You and I have actually met at The Duke when I went on a regular basis. And i don't want to be part of the e-drama that often comes from things like this.

I've just come across a few...quite a few people on these boards that are all high and mightly about their cars and will talk **** about you behind your back or what not. Then come to find out they're bilking off their parents and don't pay for ****.

I based what I said off of that and off of the statements the both of you guys where making. You were CLOWNING on people for living at home and joking about taking advantage of your folks. Most likely not the way your truly feel nore why you're still at home. And it wasn't just the 2 of you. I just picked you two because you two reflected how I already felt about it and where so obvious.

living at home while in school or trying to get on your feet is fine. Shoot I almost ended up back at home after I got laid off. I went from 80k a year to nothing and it took me 8 months to find another job. I know ruff. I'm not successful...not as much as I'd like to be and I don't make great choices all the time. Shoot had I known what I was doing 5 years ago and not spent money with reckless abandone I'd be a lot better off now. So I wasn't pointing fingers...just frustrated.

i-club is worse that high school in a lot of ways. bunch of cliques. bunch of kids talking **** because their car puts down more than yours. etc. Just tired of it really...to be honest. tired of the drama. I'm sure it's noticeable in my posts. I've been quite the honest ******* lately...but **** it. Who cares. just one guys opinion. I'm sure if more peopple were honest about it and not scared of the i-club backlash and being removed from the cliques things would change around here.


so.....yeah. i've met both of you. you know I'm a decent guy. I'm also and honest guy...and not young.

Take advantage of your situation by improving it and be ready for the next phase of life....not by taking advantage of those helping you and ****ing off.

Anyways, I agree with you for the most part. Additionally, it was not my intention to come across like I was making fun of anyone. For that, I apologize.

same here, no rush... my parents are hella cool! i mean pay for for all of my own shiet, car, insurance, and even contribute to groceries and bills. i guess it helps my parents are only 38 and 39... i'm 23, do the math! we've even gone clubbing together ahha! i love my parents!
