and you base that off what? i use 76 and costco and i see or feel no difference, maybe a couple less miles/gallon with 76.

all gas is the same, it's just the additives that make it different.

Actually from my little bro who drives a galant vr4, he filled it up with 91 costco gas and has noticed a great increase in knock. Today he filled up on some (crap ***?) gas from quick stopand knock dramatically dropped. And this was from his pocketlogger. So if you really want to know, try it for yourself and get a pocketlogger or a knock sensor.

The problem with off-brand gas is inconsistency. Sometimes they have grade-A gas, sometimes it's toilet water. Stick to the good stuff like 76. It's well worth the extra $1.25 a tank.

Also: $2.039 at 76 in Vacaville on Monte Vista by Nugget.

Also Also: $2.199 at Chevron in Pleasanton

Also Also Also: Why not try a holiday in Sveden this year?

Like Kevin said, it is very inconsistent, some days it might be great, other days it is crap. Would you fill up at Safeway or Arco? If you fill up at Costco it is the same gas. In my 91 Integra I went from using 91 Safeway, which still had audible valve knock, to using 89 chevron and the valve knock went away. I wouldn't use non-brand name gas.

Hmm, I've been using Costco gas since I had my old jetta. No knocks whatsoever, in my jetta or my wrx. I'm all stock though.
