How long (did it take to receive your new license plates?)
#2
When i bought mine new in 02 it took some time to get them like a 1-2 months. Also my plates got sent to the dealership were I bought my car. Give your dealership a call and see if they have them for some reason, and make sure they put all the paperwork through to get the plates.

I waited 4 months, never got them. Went to the DMV, they gave me a set on the spot.
Oh, I did call and ask the dealership, they did not get them. I also moved about 2 months after owning the car, but gave the DMV my new address.
****, I just remembered that my license expired last month! I got to renew that ****!

I have several friends that have bought new cars and they kept the dealer tags on for as long as they could (one of them went a good year and a half until he moved, and even then I doubt he put them on) and just kept their license plates in the back, just-in-case. If they got pulled over they'd show the cop their tags and tell them that they were on their way home to install them 'right now.'

It's been 7 weeks since I bought my '06 STi, and there are no signs of the plates. Even when I get them, I'll do what others have and keep them off the car until I get pulled over for it or get a fix-it ticket. I haven't gone so far as to cross the bridge for free though...pretty good idea though
