How to get rid of Raccoons?

We've had an issue with a gang of HUGE raccoons coming onto our property, eating our veggies, terrorizing our cats (as well as neighborhood cats), and I don't like the idea of my dogs being around these rabid beasts.

My first thought was to airsoft the hell out of them, but that wouldn't be so nice now would it? (Besides, my airsoft gun is broken, If anyone has one I can borrow, let me know! I'll give it back asap. I had a TM AK-47 that shot 420fps, but the gearbox failed.

I've gotten rid of them before by scaring the hell out of them with the said airsoft gun (never shot them directly, but shot up the metal garbage can they were in one time. Never came back after I unloaded a good 100 rounds into that can, lol. Very loud to say the least.

I've tried leaving a light on, I've tried scaring them and even spraying them with a power washer... No luck.

Short of killing these f's, how did I get rid of them?

BTW, I've never seen raccoons this friggin big either. They are at least the size of a 30lb dog, and there's 5 of them!

I think they live in the storm drain as I've seen them scatter into a sewer hole.

Raccoon's are no joke. They will kill cats and small dogs if they get into a fight. I have the same problem so I'm here for an answer too

I'm in SJ, and I don't think using claymores would be a good idea with all the cats around.

I can just picture it... 3am, snoozing away, then suddenly "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO M".

airsoft

and like what you did, shooting them directly wont have as good as an effect as shooting around them and making a lot of noise.

like I said, we have cats and so do the neighbors... I need precision strikes, like the airsoft solution.

My parents had issues with Raccoons, they'd get into the garbage, turn up the garden, and also terrorize the neighborhood animals. So I brought over my Tokyo Marui AK-47 which I had upgraded to over 400fps, fully auto of course (I used to be way into it). I waited until I heard noises near the garbage cans... 3 of the the f'ers got into my parents big metal compost bin. I turned on my red dot, set it to fully automatic and unloaded a good 100 rounds into and onto that garbage can. The raccoons came running out like chickens without heads, scrambling to escape anywhere they could... They jumped onto a nearby fence and started running to get away from the scene, but I just followed them and kept spraying the fence line (which was also really loud).

Woke up just about every neighbor with the noise of me shooting the metal bin and the fence combined with the noise of 25-30lb raccoons scrambling, knocking over everything in their path to escape.

They never came back. My parents had a pretty major problem with them to.

So yeah, any ideas along those lines? Motion lights wont do it, has to be loud, scary and VERY overwhelming.

Shock and awe these mother f'ers/

My dog handled one real nice a few weeks ago, I have a Pitt. Roughed him up a bit and the raccoon ran away lol... But I also recommend a paint ball gun, freeze the paintballs a few days and fire away! The pain of a solid paintball hitting you is insane

Okay on a serious note. Big mouse traps or small bear traps will work just fine. Setup a perimeter on incursion points around your place and see how many of those fawkers you get. If you hear the *****es scream, you got them.

Worse case scenario robot sentry paintball gun or airsoft hooked up.
