How far do you commute everyday?
I might soon need to commute from SF to Sunnyvale everyday (40 miles each way).
In general, what time will traffic be the worst (Hwy 101 from SF to Sunnyvale and back)? When do I need to start going/coming back if I want to avoid as much traffic as possible?
Please share your personal experience. TIA

I drive from Tracy to San Jose. Roughly 55 miles one way about 110 a day. On average it takes me an hour and a half to get to work and to get home. There really is no good time to commute. Traffic starts building around 2, is heaviest between 4-6 but that's what I've experienced on 880/680/580.

Commute
Santa Clara to Watsonville - close to a hundred miles per day.
02 SRP Wagon, no mods, gets around 335 to 345 miles per tank. is this good or just average? car with 105k miles on it.

Your commute will suck if you take the 101. take 280. the worst part for you will be the commute home.
why don't you take the train? my wife works in the city and takes the train, she loves it.

I am thinking about the train too, but I don't live close to any train stations and I know nothing about commuting by caltrains..... If I have to drive or take muni in order to take the train, I guess it's not worth the time?
