Ok, so as some of you might've read, I was test driving an Evo and a STi. My dad got to try both of them out and my mom tried the Evo. They're actually quite amazed and impressed by it. And not to mention, my parents are middle aged and NOT car enthusiasts, maybe my dad would get a little interested in them, but that's it. My family has primarily owned safe, easy to drive German cars (Benz, VW, BMW) and generally wanted to stay within luxury class cars. And when we were car shopping, my parents didn't even like my bugeye that much except for the color (SRP) and especially hated how loud it was

My mom liked the 07 STi a lot surprising and especially liked the 09 WRX wagon, thought it was very spacious and nice interior, but thought the evo 8 was better looking. After the weekend my dad said that he might consider buying a STi in the future!!! (after our Benz dies, it's at 150K miles)

So just wondering how do your parents feel about your WRX/STi? That is if you had to buy the car with them and still live under their roof

my dad hated the fact that i was buying a car with a "big wing" haha. Once i showed him the safety ratings and everything else he was pretty cool with it. Both my mom and dad never wanted me to buy the car, but **** they dont pay my bills so in the end I made the decision and now they think the car is awesome.

my parents dont care about cars unfortunately.. they could car less what car i drive, hell they dont even approve my career choice of automotives..my dad drove my car and didn't say anything when i asked about it, he said"Its a car", my mom drove my car and said its too fast..

they dont support anything i do with my either..

my mom said she wants to go to a rallyx tho today.. that kinda excited me..

my parents liked it when it was stock but now they hate it cuz of the mods, especially when i come home at 4am and wake them up with my exhaust. but hey like the safety features so i guess it out weights it.

My mom didn't care about my car. To her, a car is just a car. I've let my dad drive my car in the past and he liked it. Then again, my dad was into the car scene years ago and enjoys a good car.

at 18 years old my mom was against me having a celica and my brother, when he was 21, my mom gave him a year full when he was trying to get a eclipse gst.

i got my car without any of my family member knowing about it, i jsut told them i got a 4 door sedan when i did get it. my mom saw the car was thought it was very flashy with the wing in the back, told me to be careful from cops, gave her a ride a month later or so and she thought sometehing was wrong with my car because of the turbo whining. my brother thinks my car will fall apart because its so stiff.

MY folks loves my cars. When I had the FXT, they wanted that for themselves. So when they was shopping for a new car, they was trying to get a wrx wagon, but ended up with a Saab 92-X. We keep it in the family

My mom and dad are into BMW for performance and Toyota for DD... They can't figure out why I like Subarus so much... My dad thinks it is because of my accident, but I was in the community before I wrecked...

Funny bit happened the other day...

So I wrecked my suby and my mom got me the van as the replacement. I asked why I couldn't get another suby and she said I would love it TOO much...

So fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, I go for a drive with my parents in the van... The van is dirty as hell with mud and leaves, I open the side door and all kinds of trash falls out. (The suby was spotless, I washed and vacuumed it every two weeks) My mom just says, "Well it is nice to see that you are taking care of the van." I just reply, "I guess I just don't love it enough."
