Now back on topic if it helps this is a floor jack that we found that has the lowest profile with the best lift ability, use this often well built jack, kind heavy but its a floor jack. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5429_200345429
I believe what he was trying to say is " Dont hock your parts here without vendor status"

I understand that but this is something that works and is safe and convinent I would have suggested them even if I didnt carry them. But being I do, I am going to let the people know where to find them just as I did for the northern tool jack

When using the 2x4s and pieces of wood you have to be extra careful as you roll up onto or as you come back off of them, the front of the board is going to want to come up. You will have to watch that it doesnt come up and damage your car.

If you can cut a 45* angle into the end of the 2x with a skilsaw or something, it makes this much less likely to occur

The easiest is to just dig a garage pit! Rent a back hoe and a jack hammer. Jackhammer out the space for the pit and then use the backhoe to dig down into the dirt under the floor of the garage. You may have to do some bracing to keep the back fill from falling in the hole. Than pour a re-enforced concrete slab for the floor of the pit, make sure to put in a drain. Than make walls out of cinder blocks, plumb some air lines down there to run your air tools. Run some 110v lighting and some outlets. Carbon monoxide settles in low places so you will need to put in a ventilation system that will change the air down there once every 20 minuets or so. You will want to install a rail system with a tranny jack, and maybe a crane to lift stuff out of the pit.

Hope this helps

All the above is great for general jacking a low car...

But this post is probably the easiest solution.

It's a bunch of plastic pops, 2 screws in the well

What i find to be difficult is once i jack the side up with the jack its getting the jackstand onto a trust worthy spot cause there is no room next to my jacks head to get the jack stand on the same spot and most wheel ramps dont give me enough room under the car. where do you guys jack from and put your jack stands?
