I mean if you need 2 seats you need 2 seats. IMO airlines should do something like, buy an extra seat for 3/4 or 1/2 the cost for comfort as an option......................THIS WILL NOT ALLOW A SECOND PERSON. Then boom..........but if ur fat and u want to squeeze in the 1 man seat then so be it. Who knows, obviously skinny people dont want to be cramped and either do fat people. Answer Depends if u are fat or skinny. If I was fat id be like **** u im not paying **** god maaaaaade me this way hehe

<- fat guy.

It's a fine line. If you're big enough that you're taking up a part of another seat, you're affecting someone else who paid full price if they're next to you - you should have to account for that. However, how do you decide when someone's too big? I've met people a foot shorter than me that probably weigh 70 pounds less than I do and take up way more space.....but if you put a weight limit, you're going to screw tall people just as much. I think there has to be a line drawn, but I wouldn't want to be the one doing it.

FWIW, I'm a 300lb 6 footer who DD's in a Recaro SRD.....some big peoples are built differently

And if you disagree, sigma pi, Xevious and I will eat your family.

the day they have to pay for 2 seats is the day they better offer me 1/2 price for scrunching up into a little ball...seriously if they had bunk seating, making tokyo capsules look like mansions, they could fit 2x the people, and i'd be down to do it to save some money.

<--- Also a Fat Guy

I has been a while since I have flown, but I still fit in the seat, yet I do take up a lot of space, and I would probably be invading the space of a stranger next to me... I usually fly with friends or family who sit next to me.

But I know that there are people much larger than I am and if they physically fill two seats they should buy both.

And I do believe that although Weight does somewhat determine a person's size, it is not a solid way to determine it. there are people that weigh half as much as I do and are bigger than me, and vise versa.

FYI- I check in at 345lb and 6'1", most people, from looking at me, think I weigh about 275.

PS- Sybir- I think I may be looking in to some Recaros...

I think they should buy half my seat. When they sit next to me. Their fat arm or belly rolls always make their sweaty slimy way over to my seat and cause me to ball up next to the window in fear.

I think they stopped serving peanuts on plane because of these people. Too many elephants on the plane are bad for gas mileage and wing spars.

I think they should have a FAT BOX. Just like they have to check your carry on to see if it fits under the seat or in the over head. They should have a airplane seat in a glass case. If you can sit in the seat without problems ,,, You get a one ticket seat. If you cant sit in the seat without all us laughing then you get to buy two seats.

I was flying home from Germany 2 years ago after spending some time there, and if you didnt know, its an 11 hour flight which sucks in its own.

I went to get in my seat when I noticed a man that had to of weighed well over 400lbs sitting in the seat next to mine... I'm 6'6.5 so there is NO WAY I'd be able to fit next to him, and since the plane was 100% capacity, the flight attendant had to ask the man to leave so I could sit into my seat... It was the most awkward and uncomfortable situation ever... I felt like a total a-hole the whole time home... It wasn't my fault though, and as tall as I am, I still fit into one seat, just have no leg room... This guy seriously took AT LEAST half of my seat.

But yeah, it sucked ***.
