I try my best to do this every morning. Also, if you're dehydrated, your body will go into "survival mode" meaning it's stores fat. Therefore, if you are dehydrated, your body will have a helluva time burning fat. I tracked my liquid intake for about a 2wk period, and overall, I drank something like 120-160oz of liquid a day, coffee included.

I chug my 16oz of water in the morning, and I take my water bottle (a 27oz. Klean Kanteen) with me when I leave the house. I find myself sipping water in the car on the way to school/work, during class, etc. Before I know it, I've gone through maybe 2-3 refills of my kanteen throughout the day. I think that just having water with you, whether in a cup or bottle, helps you drink more of it. I also noticed that chugging the 16oz of water in the morning gives you a brief energy kick - you'll feel more awake.
Yea I pretty much do the same. Other than my Monster in the morning, I down about 5 16oz bottles of water while at work. Then drink at least 2 more 16oz glasses of water once I get home. I'm always thirsty. Water also works good when you are feeling a little hungry. Chug some water and fill the void and it'll buy you at least another hour to 2.

Alcohol in and of itself doesn't necessarily cause weight gain, but what it does is slow your metabolism down. Especially hard liquor. So if you aren't working out, then you will gain weight from it.

I'm 6'4 and considered fat at 235-240. By looking at me, no one would notice cause I have skinny arms, but I have upper body fat. I've been as low as 195 and maintained 200 for several years. Met my wife and put 30 pounds on.

And Ray, if I could pick up that 172, you'd have some competition. Simply due to having such a massive board, I'd be smoking down the slopes.

HAHAHA.

German scientists recently discovered that drinking 2 cups of cold water immediately upon waking boosts metabolism by 24% for 90 minutes following this good morning chug.
I am gonna test this and drink an emergency after see if that helps with the weight. better metabolism= better chance of losing some weight.

Hey Ray,

I got a motivational article for you http://www.gymjones.com/knowledge.php?id=36

I HIGHLY recommend anyone with fitness goals to read it. It's written by the guy who trained the actors from the movie 300, in response to allegations that the spartans had CGI abs and/or the actors took steroids.

Oh yeah? Let's go FAT BOY!!

You packed on everything you took off, and I'm still losing...

220 on a good morning, 223 on a bad one. Bicycle to work 10.x miles each way at least two days/wk. along with slightly longer bike rides (Konocti Challenge) where I rode around the entire lake (65.x miles). Joined a gym, although that doesn't help much because I hardly ever go, but am going to start implementing that into my routine to remove the gut. Any good suggestions around here for dropping the gut-line??

I wish he went more in to his actual work out practice than the self righteous wannabe pep talk bull****. I didn't find anything of use in that article. Sounded like something I've heard at a management seminar.

Only thing to gain is to go read the calendar of events and other training bits on the site. His workouts looks like those of a lot of MMA fighters right now. Go to any big time gym that is training a big time fighter and you'll see much of the same but at a higher level.

And reading their workout calendar doesn't do you much good because if the average joe jumped in to that with no supervision they'd end up burned out and/or injured within a week.

I used to train like a mad man when I was younger and its really easy for me to try and jump in to that and its one of the biggest mistakes people make. Thinking they can still do what they used to.

Good pep talk article though. Basically a get off your *** and keep moving forward kind of deal.

I'd love follow the step one week one to the final step of these actors. That would be worth while. A 13 week training program that you could follow but not everyone has a gym or access to a trainer.

goodluck to everyone with the snowboard season workout plan maybe i'll see you guys out there
The country itself is in the midst of a military take over most of the time. They were when we were there.

The main island (capitol) and what not is good for a few things if you stay in certain place... only place legal to get a tattoo for one. haaa. And good tourist shopping.

There are 100's of other islands. Those are where the beauty is. We stayed a week on Maravu and a few days on Matamanoa. GORGEOUS in 2 totally different ways.

Maravu had nice people. More jungle. Incredible snorkling. Amazing hikes. Water falls. Some of the best food I've ever had. Etc. Got to have a great time with some of the other guests. Including getting HAMMERED the night before a plane then mulitple boat transfer on high seas to the other island. Brilliant.

Matamanoa the staff was friendly but the guests were mostly all stuck up. Food cost more but wasn't as good. Whiter sand. More private island. Wonderful views of sunset sunrise. Even better water. So clear it was like a fish tank when you looked strait.

For about $3500 you can get all inclusive trips to nice resorts for 2 people for a week. I recommend everyone do it and do it soon before civilization catches on that there's more land to destroy. It's already happening. Several celebrities purchased islands and redbull just bought one to put a resort casino on. Soon as that's done they're ****ed.

Go soon.

We spent a bit more than that but we got all inclusive and we stayed in one of the best huts on both islands. We had the one at the very end at matamanoa and on maravu we had one on the cliffs overlooking the beach. Full wall of openning glass doors. Outdoor tub with waterfall and outdoor shower.. in door shower.. bah. Etc. The place is simply beyond words.

I'd like to go to tahitti some day but it's about 40% more to do the same thing but you get over water bungalos. Figure on spending $7k at least.

issue is I stil like to drink juices... but they are sugar devil.

I'm in the same boat as you Ray, after HS, the desk and lack of exercise has made me fat. I'm at 245, I don't look it, but I am, and If I was 200lbs, I'd be in pretty good shape. I'm still faily health, no colesterol, HBP or blood sugar issues, but it's only a matter of time.

I'm going to start walking during lunch and drop the sugar drinks. Big thing is to fine time to work out. Need to hit the weights and do cardio. I was doing great the beginning of the year but after the bee sting reaction i was out of the gym and off the road bike for 3 weeks, and then the wedding, and ****, all down hill from there!
you look fine

cycling is awesome. I pulled my mountain bike down and realized I am way out of riding shape. Haaaa.

I used to ride all the damn time. Didn't get my lisense until I was 20. Road a couple centuries... on a mountain bike. haaaa.

Last time I saw you you were looking pretty fat. Maybe 250 or 260? Congrats on the change in life style because that is what has to happen to keep weight off.

I posted this up on my car club forums. You'd be amazed at the percentage of guys that are 30-50 pounds overweight even by THEIR standards not the government horse ****.

We need to make changes as a country or we're gonna have a lot of grandparentless grand kids in 30 years and a lot of kids left taking care of parents with an assortment of **** caused by being overweight for ever.

Friggin sad.

Look at pictures from the 50's and 60's.... hell read some books. Guys considered normal now where considered FAT back then. You just didn't see it very often. ****ing computer age is destroying america.
