Housing in driving distance of Vacaville

Hey guys, I thought I would see if anyone had any pointers on housing in driving distance of Vacaville. My parents may be moving to the area from San Diego/La Jolla in the next month or so and and are not familiar with the area. Since I live in Antioch, I'm not much help. They are looking for a house in the 800k-1Mil price range and have no idea what to look for. I don't think my mom is much a fan of Vacaville so I'm thinking Napa or Rohnert Park or maybe even as far away as Davis. They looked at houses in El Dorado Hills today (Sac./Folsom) but there has to be somehting closer that is just as nice. They are basically looking for neighborhoods in the style of San Ramon/Blackhawk. Any pointers would be GREAT. They are pretty clueless as to where to look.

You got me. I think they may be considering it. My mom is from Alamo and loves the area and they lived in San Ramon back before I was born, but I guess my pops is concerned with the commute from that area out to Vacaville, so they seem to be looking more to the North. To tell you the truth though, I'm not sure with their reasoning, I'm just trying to help them find some homes in the areas I listed.

I have3 only driven through Vacaville late at night when driving to Tahoe, it always seems kind of ghetto there to me. People lookin at me like they want to kick my *** and rob me.

$800K will get you a ****in mansion in vacaville...tell them to just move there

If they don't want to be in vacaville then try cordelia...before my parents moved out to Orinda they were considering buying in cordelia...the amount we spend on our house in orinda would have gotten us a 5400 square foot, 4 car garage home with 5bd/5.5 bath

Cordelia is ~ 15-20 minutes from vacaville and ~ 20 minutes from concord...pretty much right at the 680/80 junction

Awesome, thanks Zoeb. They REALLY don't want to live in Vacaville for the same reasons mcdrama doesn't like that place. I'll let them know about Cordelia.

I dunno how true mcdramas comments are....I work in vacaville...I run 2 check cashing places in vacaville....even the people that come in here arent ghetto...plus if you live in the $800K housing area, I guarantee you will never see any of those people (if they even do exist)

See, that's the problem. The only parts of Vacaville that my parents have been to are the undustrial areas where my dad's company is located (Ginentec) and the old area over by the outlets. Since they don't know the area, they don't know that there are "nice" areas. Do you know the names of any of the streets where some o f the wealthier neighborhoods are located? I'm not trying to say all of Vacaville is ghetto, hell I live in Antioch, but my parents are pretty damn picky.

try foxboro and browns valley

Those are both nice areas of vacaville and if you go to certain parts of it then all you see are 2500+ sq ft homes all with 3 car garages.

Oh, and you could always try some place like Woodland. Even some housing areas in Dixon and Davis are in that price range.
