Hong Kong Style Noodles...
#16
On the east coast any chow mein dish is crispy noodle. I have no idea why in California they give you what I would consider lo mein as chow mein and Hong Kong style is considered fried noodles. I never got that?

Ha cherng is the best. Extra soy sauce plz. Also, who likes jah lerng (the Chinese fried donut wrapped in rice noolde)? The place I normally get that from is in Daly City, probably where dSpec was talking about. Is that the place by Westborough with the bowling and supermarket nearby? If it is, man, it's quite a drive for me, but the dahn tat (egg custard tart) is one of the better ones I've had outside of Golden Gate Bakery in SF.

I believe the place you're thinking of is the King Plaza or something with Manila Market. There's a Chinese restaurant there (owned by Mr. Fong's, see Foster City) and its Dim Sum is excellent.
The Dim Sum King place I was talking about is at Skyline where the Ranch 99 Market is.

The best place for jah lerng and jook is Hing Lung on Broadway in SF Chinatown. They make all their chinese donuts and churng fun fresh to order. However, the place is super super dirty and have horrible wait staff. You seriously have to dodge the 2 inch cockroaches whenever you go there.
