I got SBC DSL, works fine for me. Have 1.6mbps d/l and 128kbps u/l. That's pretty much the package that I signed up for. I find that most websites don't send at more than 300kbps.

On the faster sites, like the microsoft home page I almost always get 1.6mbps d/l's.

Do you leave your modem on for 10 days like they ask you to when you first got your service?

I was on ATT cable until it switched over to Comcast> Yes it's very quick. Welcome to the 21 century.

I got tired of the Comcast > ATTBI > Comcast and the subsequent changing of domain names over and over again, so I just bought my own domain name and use that when I need an e-mail address that won't change.

I've been with Comcast since it was ATTBI. Still loving it. There's been a few problems here and there, but then again, I've been subsribed to them for years now. So a few problems don't really matter in the big picture of things. to SBC DSL! haha My friends have it and when I use their computer, I think to myself, "Gee... I bet it would be faster if I just drove home and used my computer..."

Ya, this is fun, but the truth is I was on a T1 back at cal poly's dorms like 4 years ago... Sending entire hard drives over ICQ was common back then... But ya, spending that long of period on dialup just SUCKS when there were always better options out there and I knew about them... Oh well, time to catch up

BTW, does this sound right?
