HKS bov not souding good.

my friend and i both have hks ssq bof on our wrx.
but somehow, his bov always has a higher pitch than mine.
His car doesn't even have any engine mod, but a CAI.
my car has a catted downpipe and a borla hush.

Is my bov damaged? or is there any other reason for this?
i got my bov as used.
not sure of my friend's.

will hks cover it if it is indeed malfunctioning?

thanks

It might need to be adjusted.

Check what RPM ur buddy's BOV is active Vs. Urs. There's a **** screw on the opposite side of the BOV's opening, try adjusting it.

if he has a CAI that should change the sound for sure. It's amazing how much the sound of the bov changes when you alter other parts. I am running no intake on my turbo (just a mesh screen over the inlet) and the HKS bov sounds completely different now as opposed to when I had an intake on the turbo the other day.

i think it's silver.
but the gold fin produces the same sound as the silver one.
so it's not the fin that is affecting my sound then?

maybe it's the CAI of my friend's car which makes the higher pitch sound?
